Seed Placement and Packing
Proper seed placement ensures good germination and strong, early season growth of your crop.
Seed should be placed in a firm, moist seedbed. The soil above the seed should be packed firmly but not over packed. This ensures that moisture around the seed will be kept in the furrow, while still allowing the germinating seed to push through the soil to the surface.
Proper depth settings may vary due to crop type, moisture and even soil texture. A good rule of thumb is to seed as shallow as possible and remain in moist soil.
